Wrong thread pattern

Went to put on my 1/2 x36 9mm barrell. Ended up stripping the barrel out. Tried it on my 1/2 x 28 ar15 spare barrel and fit perfect. Packaging it came in says 1/2 x 36. Is not and cause damage to my gun. Thought the finish was making it hard to spin on and was not the case.

Our G-Comp 9mm Muzzle Compensators have the thread pattern engraved on the part on the bottom end.
